Woo! All set for GenCon. Cut & paste didn't work out, here's the brief outline:

Thursday: Drive to Indie in time for Whitewolf LARP Thurs 7:00 pm. I'll be fighting for a Changeling character.

Friday: At 10:00 am I've got a Changeling tabletop game that runs parallel with Thursday's LARP.
2:00 is a Christianity + Gaming panel. At 5:00 is a Faith in Gaming panel. They sound interesting, and I'll be quick to bring these events up in case some of the faculty here get uppity ideas about me going to this con. I'll wrap up the day with a Courting Murder Gwydion Castle mystery LARP at 9:00.

Saturday: Wormtooth Nation GURPS at 10:00 am. This event was $16.00 so I'll be expecting a good event. I'll be free for the rest of the day till the dance and a midnight Exalted game (I smell vampire).

Sunday: Wrap up that Exalted game, go to a GenCon worship service at 9:00 and head home sometime after that.

The one regret for my schedule: I was too late to register to any beginner costume-making lessons. There was one appropriate one that wasn't yet sold out, but it was a bit too early on Thursday afternoon and I chose not to risk it. I also sort of regret not getting into any D&D, but I'm so unhappy with 4th edition it's probably a blessing.

Edit: I went back and got into a Shadows over Camelot game. Penny Arcade did a comic on it, so it must be worth playing. Saturday afternoon. Percival FTW.

I'd suggest grabbing a few generics and trying the costuming workshops. There are always a couple no-shows.

That's indeed the plan!

Shadows over Canelot - the board game?

Yup. It seems interesting, and the event was a mere $2.00. A worthwhile risk to discover a new game.

I'm starting to plot ways to get gaming into the seminary. Board games would be a safe transition.

It's a pretty solid coop game. A friend of mine has it and our board gaming group plays it occasionally. I highly recommend playing with the traitor rules (which may be in the expansion, I don't remember) since I think it adds a neat layer to be concerned that someone is working against the group.

I'd recommend you take a look at Nuns on the Run as a potential intro to gaming for the seminary. It seems thematically appropriate, and it's actually a pretty fun game.
